A cadastral survey is a Public Land Boundary Survey.

This type of survey is needed by the Bureau of Land Management, United States Forest Service when establishing or confirming their boundaries. These surveys can also help private land owners when they are in disagreement with the aforementioned government agencies’ established property boundaries.
